Tomric’s cacao partner Ingemann Fine Cocoa was awarded a prestigious Heirloom Cacao Preservative Initiative designation for their Chuno Classico® cocoa beans at the Fine Chocolate Industry Association Elevate Chocolate event in San Francisco.
The Heirloom Cacao Preservation Initiative designation is awarded to cocoa farmers that assist in the protection and preservation of cacao diversity while producing high quality and diverse flavored cocoa beans at origin. The HCP’s mission is to “identify and preserve fine flavor (“heirloom”) cacao varieties for the conservation of biological diversity and the empowerment of farming communities”.
The Chuno cacao bean is a single-variety, processed separately from harvest to export to preserve its unique flavor characteristics.
